Dennis believes his most important skill is listening to his client's words (by hearing) and the body (through touch). He strives to be an active listener in this way. The information he gathers helps him be a fully present and compassionate massage therapist. Dennis looks forward to being a curative and empowering part of each of his clients' wellness journeys.
In 1989 Dennis graduated from Potomac Massage Therapy Institute, MD. During the ensuing 34 years of practicing massage, he has logged more than 40,000 hours of client treatments. The last 26 years have been spent operating his successful solo massage practice in Garrett Park, Maryland. Upon relocating to Cobb Island Dennis reached out to us and joined the team!
Dennis's post-graduate education includes over 300 hours with Michael Shea in myofascial release and cranial therapy, including Michael's certification in advanced myofascial release. Dennis has been fortunate to study with many other gifted educators through the years, including Whitney Lowe for orthopedic massage, Gay Lee Gulbrandson for Manual Lymph Drainage, and Roger Tolle for Trager. In addition, he has attended numerous other workshops such as those in reflexology, bio-dynamic bodywork, and working with survivors of sexual abuse. He spent over a year working in a pain clinic that focused on brain biofeedback. Working with these clients in crippling, chronic pain was a most humbling experience. Exposure to these various modalities influences his approach with each client in every session.
